A Very Good Friend You Are

A true friend you are;
This you have proven numerous times.
You have offered a helping hand
When I did not even ask for it.
Friends I had before;
Where are they now?
Some special friends have passed away --
To my regret, never to return.
Others left me,
Misunderstandings were not cleared up.
Suddenly I lost my hearing.
A great disappointment that was:
More friends I lost.
Yet, I have learned to live with it.
Your friendship is solid;
For your predicaments are similar.
We understand each other's pain.
Through the SWC we met;
Where sharing and caring
Is foremost on people's mind.
Fortunate I am
To have found a friend like you.
I only wish we lived closer together;
I would love to lend you a helping hand too.
