The birth of my #1 red cap

The 2004 SWC con in Minnesota was my very first convention. One day in the hospitality room I met Linda S., Donna P., and Ellen L.. Linda taught us how to play a card game called "Baseball" with skip-bo cards. I'd never played this card game before but it was very easy and anybody can learn it on the first try.

You play 9 innings or games just like baseball. Whoever has the lowest score wins the game and is the CHAMPION! When we first started out, it looked like I was losing but by the time we got to the end of the 9th inning I won!! I thought this was lady luck and I just kept on winning.

A year later, I mentioned how much fun we had playing baseball. And I hadn't been playing it at all this year and matter of fact I had forgotten how to play it. Then we all decided we would play again. I was one of the Fab Five ladies (five crazy ladies who roomed together at the con). It turned out much better than I was expecting. It was a blast. We weren't in our room that much.

One of the roommate brought t-shirts for the five of us that said Fab Five. So I got to thinking, what can I get for my roommates? I bought a baseball cap for each one of them: Four blue caps with "#2", "#3", "#4", and "#5" on them. I bought myself a red cap with "#1" on it, and on the side I wrote:

Winner DJ 2004,
________ 2005
________ 2006

What I had in mind is this: Whoever won the game this year gets to take my red cap home and have their name on it as the winner of 2005; the cap gets brought to the St. Louis Con in 2006 for the champion games and I would try to win it back..

To my surprise I won this year's games again, again and again. We even changed the rules at the last game that we only going to play 3 innings. Guess who won? So, I brought the cap home with me again, and I am still the CHAMPION!

So if you want to try for the champion games then come on down to St. Louis for the 2005 SWC Con and try to win the #1 red cap away from me!!!!
