Well, it is about that time to say farewell to this fine group we have here. I enjoyed working with you and thanks for the patience as I struggled learning everything the first time! It was great to meet all of you at the convention! I just wish I had longer time to visit with you. I am really looking forward to next year's convention. I hope to send more time getting to know some of you.
I want to acknowledge all those who were on the registration committee. Without them the registration would not have been pulled off.
First, I want to thank Bonnie for all her patience with me this year. Being new, I was always seeking her advice. It was a real pleasure to work with her. My only regret is I did not get to spend much time at all with her at the convention! We all had our jobs to do!
Then there is Cathy. Cathy helped a lot, especially on the name tags. I think the tags looked so nice and thanks to her for all the work on them. Also want to thank her and Arthur Veen for the work they did on the web pages! It was a lot of work to get the web pages for the convention up. And they had to done several times for the registration page before it finally went to the convention page. So thanks for both of your work on that.
Suzanne--- I thank her for keeping me company several mornings and got to know her better! I really enjoyed it.
Joanie N. was responsible for the web page questions for the registration. I thank her for that. Also helping at the registration desk along with all the others throughout the week as we had scheduled times for each person.
Elaine-- I was so happy to meet her finally at the convention. She and I talked many times both about registration and fundraising throughout the past months. So it was so good to finally meet her!
Robin, what can I say other than she was a great addition! She was always eager to help in any way that she could. She was my backup in sending out brochures in case something happened to mine. She did a great job on Commons and on Vistas telling them about San Diego. All the little lotions, etc that were in the goodie bag were donated by Robin. Thanks for all those, Robin!
Arthur--- in addition to the above, he was there every day taking pictures of each person as they registered! He was stuck with me must of the mornings :-) Poor Arthur! But I enjoyed chatting as we waited for people. Thanks, Arthur.
Jazzy, you were a real support and I do not think I would have gone "solo" after you left without all your encouragement. I am glad I got to finally meet you.
Joanne, I want to thank you for all your hard work and getting the flight schedules off this list and taking care of that even when you were on vacation! You are an inspiration to everyone! I really enjoyed meeting you and wish we had more time together!
Cindy Thompson--- who came in towards the end, but helped so much. Each goodie bag had a set of brochures that were wrapped together. Cindy went around to places picking them all up; then all by herself folded each set of brochures! She had a big full box of them! That was lots of hard work.
There are 2 others on this committee. One is Bob -- without him I would not have been on any committee to start with. I thank him for trusting me to help with the Commons list.
The other committee member is Joan Emerick who was not able to come to the convention. But of course not she was not forgotten! And she made special plans to make sure I did not forget her either:-)
The registration was a team that truly worked together and I thank each one of them for putting up with me!!!!! I have a few pictures I have gotten developed so far. It really feels like I brought you all home with me!
I was asked by some how many people did we have there. The count was 72 registered! That was great and surpassed our original planned high of 60! So hopefully next year will be even greater!
