This is a compilation of the SWC-DHC's discussion on the topic of change.
What do you think of when you hear the word change? Do you think of coins, or change for a dollar? For you, is change associated with a chore, such as changing a diaper, or changing the oil in the car? Or does the word bring to mind something clean and fresh, like a change of clothes? Perhaps the word change causes you to reflect on the noble goal of changing one's attitude.
For some, change is life. It's just natural. It's growth. Change brings forth the potential in each new day. To resist change is to resist life itself.
Little changes, if strategic, have the power to transform. Consider what happens when one word is changed in this quote by Aristotle:
"Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence."
What would you say?
"________ is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence."
Now try filling these into that blank. Knowledge. Attitude. Christ. Enlightenment. Which choice fits best for you? Did you think of a different one?
Knowledge is a good answer but without application it is futile. Enlightenment implies that we are transformed by our new wisdom and will choose to live a new and better life. Enlightenment has to do with a new attitude and it changes how we live and act.
