This was going to be just another SWC Online Voices newsletter. Just another newsletter with the usual articles.
Then the unspeakable happened. One of our beloved members died. Åsa Bäcklund was 44 when she died, and had been a member of the SWC for almost 6 years. Åsa (pronounced as "oosa") touched a lot of people in those years, with her love and warmth and true desire to understand the world just a little more.
The BOD and I had already agreed, before Åsa's death, that there wouldn't be any more memorial pages dedicated to one person. After all, there have been others who've died, who haven't gotten any memorial pages. But Åsa was different. Almost everyone in the SWC at least knew who Åsa was, even if they hadn't chatted with her. And the outpouring of love for her convinced me something had to be done for our members in grief.
So I created a memorial for our Åsa. You can get to it from this issue of the SWC Online Voices.
