Dreams about the Past

Many years have past.
The good times did not last.
Changes have taken place
In any race.
Young and innocent we were;
Mostly about pleasure did we care.
The older we got
A lot we forgot.
Yet, as strange as it may be --
Of the past we are not free;
It appears in our dreams,
It is not forgotten -- it seems.
Young we are once more,
Happy as before.
Together is the whole family,
Enjoying a splendid harmony.
Oh, I wish these dreams were real;
Carefree and very content I would feel.
