Come on my children -- let us sing,
It is Christmas -- let your voices ring
Loud and clear --
Although, I can not hear --
Your happy faces I will watch
With glee in my heart I will catch
In joyful anticipation
A glimpse of old tradition.
Let us be thankful for what we have got,
Not thinking about -- what we have not
Happiness we will find
With a peaceful mind.
I love you all --
Be it Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall.
Wherever you are --
Be it near or far --
You are my beloved family.
Right now -- I am happy to be
Together with you on this precious day --
So, let us go on singing without delay.

C-olored lights decorate our homes
Sparkling display upon blanket of snow
H-ear the angels singing to us from above
Telling of God’s wonderful gift of love
R-inging bells chiming everywhere
As church goers bow their heads in prayer
I-cicles dangling from many rooftops
Frost lined windows of every gift shop
S-nowflakes gracefully dancing in mid air
Like tiny white doves flying everywhere
T-hese are the scenes of Christmas Day
Watching our loved ones in joyous play
M-usic playing softly in the background
With voices singing in harmonic sound
A-twinkle in our eyes and warmth of a hug
Tis the season to share our love
S-pecial is this holiday to me
Merry Christmas to you and your family!

'Tis the season is upon us once again. All the hustle and bustle to get the perfect gift, the perfect meal together, and so forth. How commercialized Christmas really has become. My holiday tips I pass on to you and I hope they help each one of you enjoy this precious time of year.
Every year I look forward to the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas. But I must admit that Christmas is truly my favorite of the two. I shy away from the advertisings of this one is 50% off, that one is 30% off, ours is better than theirs, and so forth. I try to think about what I can truly give someone that will create a wonderful memory for years to come. I don’t care about sales and so forth. That's not what Christmas is all about.
The joys each year of getting out all the holiday décor. The colorful lights, the tree, garlands that glisten like that of crystal, the symbolic pieces, and memorabilia, combined with all of the color and splendor are truly spectacular events to be cherished. Sometimes I enjoy having poor vision. The reason being that it allows me to see things for their beauty-not what shape they are in or anything like that. I have a manger scene that is so pretty. It's made of ceramic. There is a piece that broke off one of the figurines. It is noticeable if one was looking for things like that. But, I don’t care. I don’t put it out because it's pretty to look at. I set it up because of what it stands for-peace, good will, joy, love. That's the beauty of it all.
I have some colored Christmas balls/ornaments that hang on the tree that may have a crack, or a piece broken, or maybe some of the color is wearing off. Oh well! It's still beautiful to me. When you put all the pieces together, all the décor on that tree, you don’t notice the marks or damages. All you see is something that is so colorful, so bright, and makes you feel so good inside. I love to turn the lights off every night and spend the evening in only the lights of the Christmas tree so I can enjoy it's splendor.
Much is the same when getting together with family and friends. Yes, it can be a frustrating time of the year for all of us. The noise can make conversations confusing and so forth. Or the fact that I can’t see well enough to catch everything that goes on. But, there are better ways to spend the holidays than worry about the things that are frustrating as this.
Instead of trying to listen to everything that's being said-I feel the music and the love all around me. So I can’t join in every conversation-but I can see the smiles and laughter of loved ones having a great time. I can see the excitement in the children as they wait with anticipation for the moment of opening their gifts. I can see the colorful lights that shine on everything around them.
I don’t look at what there is to eat. I look at how fortunate we are to have what's on our table to eat. I look at the work it took to prepare the food with such love and care. I look at the fact that we are all together to share a wonderful time of year not knowing who will be the next one to leave our side. I look at all the past holidays and the people who are no longer with us-how precious the memories are that we made before the left us. I look at the ability to spend this time with loved ones and with my God, and be thankful for all that I have.
Christmas is all about love-loving you and loving others around you no matter what. Christmas is a time for sharing-sharing what we have, not what we wish we had or what we lack. Christmas is a time of giving-giving of ourselves not what we can or will get. Christmas is the most precious time of year because it’s one holiday that can last all year round if you let it-inside ourselves in everything we do each day. The spirit of Christmas doesn't have to die-but it can grow to help us appreciate and enjoy all the things that are most valuable in life year round.
Merry Christmas to everyone and I pray that you will all cherish and value the true meaning of this holiday as much as I do.

As a young girl, I remember this,
Wishing for a red cowgirl hat and red boots,
Red fire truck, games, and baby dolls,
Christmas candies and stockings, too
Christmas morning, wake up Mom and Dad,
We can't wait to open the presents up.
Left and right, the wrappings and bows are tossed.
In the corner, a new bicycle was gleaming.
The tree at Grandma's house with the bubble lights,
Going up and down, bulbs and tinsel shining,
While outside the winds are whining,
Inside we are nestled warm and tight.
Let's not forget the Christmas Spirit of love and peace,
Of giving of yourselves to friends, and families in need,
Reaching out to a stranger, a homeless child, needing a touch,
Elderly and those all alone, share kindness to them.
Can you hear in the stillness of night?
The angels gathering in a heavenly chorus,
Singing Peace on Earth, Good Will towards all men,
Today, and every day, rings in my heart.
