I will always remember our many ICQ chats just talking about the HC (we were both members), the SWC or life in general. She had nicknames for all of us. There were many times when Joanie was "down" because of all her health problems, but then she would come back with a joke, usually sexual in nature. :-) We also had many discussions on sports as she was an avid sports fan. She will always be the condom lady and has a special place in my heart.

Joanie
Thank you for your chatting on every sunday morning in sayit. You are a very courageous and excellent lady. I remember the many pleasant scenes on sayit chat with you. Please have a peace for ever. I am praying now.

Dear Joanie,
I am passing the sherry as ever. I am ignoring all this naughty
chatter about condoms.
God.......we will all miss you. You were such fun. A cheerful
light .

Joanie....an incredible woman who taught me to face fears..things I didn't understand...things I'd rather run away from and ignore.
NF2 scared the hell out of me. Probably scares the hell out of everyone.
But Joanie taught me to see past the disease, to look deeper into the heart and soul.
She taught me about NF2. She taught me about the frustrations and fears that go with it.
I learned to laugh, to cry, to share the little things in life that we often overlook when we think WE have it bad.
For that, I'm extremely grateful.
