Åsa's post from November 10, 2004, on education havoc and taxes.
What has happened during the summer is that this Upper level education program broke down.. the company that ran it couldn't do it and the teachers were not good enough to cope with people who are hoh, deaf, blind etc etc.. Total havoc.. besides, I got no assistive listening devices so I fell behind rather quickly.. but the good new is that I am now work training as a social worker at a social security office and it is really fun and it works. So things are moving in the right direction.
About taxes.. never thought that the US has all these taxes.. but isn't it so that those who are wealthy don't have higher taxes than those who are poor or? In Sweden if you make over a certain amount per year your tax rate goes up from around 32% to around 50% so people really like to find things that will bring tax cuts LOL
It is a shame though I have to say, no offence ment, but the richest nation on earth shouldnt have to scramble money from folks to the schools. That should be funded by state and county money and if the money is not enough, raise the taxes.. that is what we do.. on gas we pay I would say triple the amount of tax than you do.. that is a whole lot of money that can be used to pay for education instead.
And of course, we are not in Iraq.....that must cost so much money that is must be incomprehensable.. I really feel for all these young soldiers who have died there.. and I say.. For what? Was it REALLY necessary? As a mother, I would say NO..
Enough of politics now..LOL
Hugs to ALL
