Åsa's trip to Egypt, written on May 10, 2005.

Subject: [SWC-N] I am home from Egypt.

My trip to Egypt was great. Really good diving areas, lots of swimming around in the sea snorkeling to see gorgeous fishes. Nice food etc etc.

But.. I never took the tour to Cairo to see the Museum and the Pyramids. The travel agents advised against it.. and then a 28-year-old Swedish doctor got hit outside the Museum at a tour I would have taken.. so I bless my luck here!

It was interesting that the Egyptian men wanted to talk politics with me.. they wanted me to say what I thought about Bush and him being in Iraq. They told me that they were shocked that the other guy didn't win.. so I tried to explain that a President has never lost a reelection when a war is going on.. a war the Egyptians don't think is a war but an occupation of territory. So we have many political discussions and it was truly good to have them cause having discussions is the best way to reach and understanding.

More on that later.

I got one heck of a burn down there.. ouch.. I got some allergic reaction, maybe to the sunscreen or whatever and it started to itch like well OUCH and twice that LOL So no sun for some days.. but it still kept itching, the sun is strong there.

I found the people very warm and friendly and they spoke good English and the hotel was really nice.

I will give more details if you like.

Hugs and smiles from Asa who has thought about all of you for ages it seems..

LOL
