Hard of Hearing / Deafened Forum
The Hard of Hearing / Deafened Live Forum meets on America OnLine (AOL) every Wednesdays at 7:00 pm ET in the Equal Access Cafe.
To locate the Equal Access Cafe on America Online, pull down the "GoTo" menu and click on "Keyword." A window will appear upon which the word "deaf" should be typed. A new window will appear with several different icons ... click on Support Chats. Scroll down in the Today's Events window to 7:00pm and click on the blue text that says "Equal Access Cafe."
The forum is open to one and all: HOH, Deaf, late deafened, hearing, teachers of the Deaf, ASL teachers, etc. Everyone is welcome to join in the sharing and caring...the participants have the opportunity to express ideas and opinions with each other. Usually a topic related to hearing issues is presented to the group.
Recently, the forum discussions have also been focusing on MSI (multiple sensory impairment) and thus we have participants providing input and feedback on vision loss, motor loss, etc. in addition to our main focus on hearing loss.
We welcome new participants to this forum. For an overview of previous forum sessions, the AOL software library (under Disabilities) contains the logs of the sessions we have conducted since January of 1995.
For further information, please contact the HOH Late Deafened Forum facilitator Bob Elkins.
