loss, family issues, and assertiveness. These include national SHHH
conventions; SHHH chapters; professional conferences of social workers,
audiologists, psychologists, counselors, nurses, and others; and
International Congress of Hard of Hearing People. Faculty and coordinator
since 1985 of the psychosocial component of Gallaudet's Elderhostel program,
Hearing Loss in Later Years. Numerous publications on the psychosocial
effects of hearing loss on individuals and families and approaches to
coping.
