Kristin M. Ceh, M.Ed., CED, Educator of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Assistant-Department of Otolaryngology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, is a member of the cochlear implant team providing adult (re)habilitation assessments, pediatric and adult auditory (re)habilitation and outreach services.

Kristin’s experience includes direct educational service provision within the school setting as well as early intervention service provision with families of infants and toddlers within the home setting. Ms. Ceh earned her M.Ed. degree at The University of Pittsburgh.

Adult Cochlear Implant Auditory (Re)habilitationThe Listening Center offers (re)habilitation services designed to meet the unique needs of the adult cochlear implant recipient. This presentation will provide an overview of our adult (re)habilitation program including counseling, auditory therapy and communication management strategies.

Considerations for maximizing one’s listening skills such as generalizing auditory ability to functional use, maintaining realistic expectations as well as managing interpersonal listening situations will also be discussed.
